I got married on 6 October to my partner Thomas Haigh whom I had been going out with for 5 years. I started thinking about the wedding a year or two ago, dreaming of my ideal venue and dress.

The proposal was rather low key, I was adamant for years that I didn’t want to get married, but after a slightly booze filled lunch in the sunshine with Tom we decided that we would both like to tie the knot, he is my sole mate and I knew I wanted to be with him forever.

After much deliberation we decided on the Worsley Court House, Manchester for our ceremony and evening meal.  It was then we started to gather ideas for decorations, theme (a vague silver, gold and cream theme!).

I was a pretty laid back bride, much to poor Pauline’s dismay (tee hee) I chose my lovely Martha dress from The Bridal Rooms just 3 months before the big day but Pauline was very happy to help and went out of her way to see me for fittings and alterations.  Originally I had fallen in love with another Charlotte Balbier dress called Tabitha  but after trying on Martha I found the dress for me!

As the dress was in an antique gold colour I opted for a gold head piece called Field of Dreams by Flo and Percy, which complimented the dress beautifully.

My faux fur cape was from black.co.uk and my shoes were from the Monsoon Wedding Collection.

I wanted the day to be very laid back and Informal with plenty of food and drink to go around. On he day of he wedding. We were lucky enough to have a clear blue sky and sunshine all day.

I spent the morning dressing the venue and being pampered getting my hair and make up done before checking into the Marriot Worsely and seeing some of my best friends for champagne and laughter! My dad collected me in the hotel in a lovely blue Jaguar which took us to the ceremony. We had 100 guests and after our short ceremony had winter Pims, photos and a buffet. After this there was lots of dancing and merriment!

The best part of the day for me was walking down the isle seeing all of my nearest and dearest there, it was completely lovely and overwhelming and all of the stress of the organising melted away!!

The only thing I would have changed if I could was to have a slightly longer wedding, our ceremony wasn’t until 4pm and the day went so quickly!!!

I felt a million dollars in my dress and got loads of compliments in it! If I could do it all over again I would!!!ll
